The Path to Purpose

About Me
Thank you for visiting my blog. I am first and foremost a Pancreatic Cancer survivor who has weathered this storm by the grace of God. I am an Italian girl born in Buffalo, New York. With a name like Stacy Corluccio, where else would I be from? We moved to Texas when I was 8 years old and I have not left. Texas is where my heart is, but Buffalo still feels like home too. I grew up in Cypress, Texas and graduated from Cy-Fair High School. BOBCAT FIGHT NEVER DIES! How prophetic that chant turned out to be for me is quite interesting. I went on to college at Texas A&M University. FARMERS FIGHT, FIGHT, FARMERS, FARMERS FIGHT! See the pattern here? I graduated in 1992 with high hopes of teaching Language Arts and the beautiful French Language to middle schoolers! Then I was offered a job for $18,000 a year. I needed to eat. So I went on to work in the world of insurance. It sucked me in like the vortex that it is. I stayed for 33 years mostly serving the public sector. I learned so much and met some amazing people who touched my life and will always have a place in my heart. No regrets.
I am married to the most amazing man. I call him Dan the Magic Man Who Can. He is my soul mate, a brilliant person and takes wonderful care of me and our doggo Murphy. I have a wonderful and loving family and I am blessed beyond measure. My mother is a special woman and has also been through cancer herself. She is feisty and beat it! She has been my rock and when I need premium adulting lessons- she is the go to! My sister Gina Maria, she got the good first name, is a beautiful loving soul as well as my very best friend Shaundra. I met Shaundra when I was 15 and I am convinced she is an earth angel.
Now onto the C word. Cancer hit me in August of 2023 at 54 years old. The real scary kind - Pancreatic Ductal Adenocarcinoma was diagnosed at Stage IIB. I have been through 4 surgeries, one being the Whipple. I have also been through more than 20 chemo infusions and I am now in a clinical trial that is saving my life. I found my faith in God and HE has lifted me up in healing though my prayer along with the prayers of many others. That is the short story.
I want this blog to save you too. Read the stories, how I coped, how I managed my care (yes YOU need to be your own advocate) along with tips and tricks. Please share your success stories too. The fact is ...we need one another to survive.
